I find it crazy to think that a foreigner got a job offer when us locals are searching, digging for a job. Granted this job offer might be for some high up, makes $40,000 a year type job that the typical average man is not qualified and equipped for but what irritates me is instead of trying to locate people who are this close to being qualified and training them, we outsource. the whole point of bringing people in to work here was so they could in fact train belongers (that is what we call natives/people who have the right to vote) who could possibly fill the positions.
you want to know about turks & caicos? let me tell you. this is a place where as long as you're black you're never going to get ahead. the stupid thing about is the NATIVE people of this land are BLACK. we constantly kiss up to anything that is not our own.
turks & caicos is a place where dreams never come true. you have to slit your wrist for attention.
turks & caicos is a place where you can steal from anyone, rape a woman, have sex with a donkey and no one would care. that's what turks & caicos is.
oh you're going to love it. beautiful beaches, the smiling ignorant natives, you can be king!
sigh. just another minute in paradise.
Turks & Caicos is fairly expensive. Think pricewise along the lines of New York or California. The people are friendly. There has been a slight increase in crime due to the economy as well as sadly one of the local banks just closed. A lot of people lost their money and some unstable and idiotic persons have decided the best way to deal is to steal. However, the crime rate is nowhere near as dangerous as what you'd find in America or in other Caribbean countries like Jamaica or the Bahamas. We have a large expat population; there is a huge Haitian population. We have problems with immigration especially from Haiti. Currently the country is suffering through some issues with bad governing. We are now under direct British rule as opposed to before where we were British but managing our country ourselves. Do not take this to mean British officers are out patroling the streets with guns. It simply means there is no local government party ruling the country, instead we are answering directly to England until we sort out the mess the past government created. There are a few things to do, movies, wine bars, great restaurants, always a party going on. Once you find your friends you'll fit right in and always have your little scene.
