I can't answer for females and I hope that some will be more precise than I.
Before the hippie era, it was almost a sin for a female to enjoy the sexuality according to most of the christian religions. So! Most women did even not try to improve their pleasure but were devoted to please their "husbands".
Later I understood that males can easily get an erection but it is very hard for a female to succeed an orgasm. So! What is the truth here? Are you with the majority when you can't reach it?
Those succeeding it are having a sexual partner trying to go slow as ... as soon as the guy gets an erection .. it is over ... So! No time for the partner to get her orgasm.
Then! Are you as the majority here or with a minority? But what is the real majority ... (I don't know!)
Anorgasmia, or Coughlan's syndrome, is a type of sexual dysfunction in which a person cannot achieve orgasm, even with adequate stimulation. A common cause of situational anorgasmia, in both men and women, is the use of anti-depressants, particularly selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Post-SSRI sexual dysfunction (PSSD) is a name given to a reported iatrogenic sexual dysfunction caused by the previous use of SSRI antidepressants. Though reporting of anorgasmia as a side effect of SSRIs is not precise, studies have found that 17–41% of users of such medications are affected by some form of sexual dysfunction.[2][3] Limited data has shown that the drug amantadine may help to relieve SSRI-induced sexual dysfunction.
I think, since it is situational, that it could possibly be due to inhibitions. Hope this helps
