vw golf mk4 boot sensor problem ?
Hi, i have a vw golf mk4 which ive bought recently. today i took it to a car wash for the first time, now the computer says the boot is open when it isn't and its making a really annoying sound while driving.
anyone know how to fix this? i've tried drying it nothing is happening.

All door sensors are either normally open circuit, or normally closed.
All you have to do is pull the harness plug off the lid switch and try it.
If that does not work, then insert a shunt across the plug leads.
One or the other has to work.
Having delicate electronics on a car, like boot sensor, power windows, remote entry, etc., borders on insanity.
Cars are way too hard on electronics for these systems to be reliable.
Leave it a couple of days to dry out fully, then if it's still a problem, open the boot and find the sensor / switch an make sure it's clean and dry. If that still doesn't solve it then you're going to be taking things apart...
