1st host of NBC's today
sure do. He was on in the morning, on black and white tv as I left for school. Heard one day he just up and committed suicide. Seemed like a really nice guy. It's funny how lots of people don't wear their problems on their sleeve.
I remember seeings him on TV, but I thought he was the host of the Tonight show.
Yes the show was in Black & White and there was a chimp named Mr. Muggs.
Of course, and his monkey. He invented the format for the Evening News.
I kinda do. I remember jack paar, he had one arm and steve allen a brilliant renaissance man.
Yup, and Jack Lasculie (sp)
I do but didn't watch him very often. I had to get up at 5AM to start my working day six days a week.
Sure, he seemed like a nice sincere newsman - rarely seen today.
I seen pictures of him glasses and a bowtie
Yes, and that's when TV was in its "golden age," today you get allot of cr@p.
