i have a dell vostro 1015 it has an Intel Core 2 Duo / 2.1 GHz - 3GB RAM and i was wondering if i can upgrade its processor to intel core i3 and the RAM to 4GB
yes you can upgrade your laptop but your laptop doesn't work like before which was original...it may show you some defect on your laptop...so it's your choice to upgrade or not..!!!
Yeah Sure ! You can upgrade your processor in Dell Vostro 1015 but because it comes with Intel GM 45 Chipset so you only can only upgrade your processor to a newer one which is supportable to the GM 45 Chipset. My suggestion is to go with this processor (Intel Core 2 Extreme mobile QX9300). It is 2.53 Ghz, FSB 1066Mhz, L2 cache 12MB which is much better than your previous one.
But you have to upgrade your heat sink and fan and BIOS too for this processor.
Note : keep backup of your previous BIOS.
Pros : You can overclock your processor upto 3.06 Ghz
hi Dylan the solutions you have already are purely polite, the undemanding data approximately laptops is there are no longer designed to be changed interior the conventional way you will possibly with a computing device. the processor isn't meant to get replaced, purely to interchange it like with like so as this is that delusion uncovered. picture enjoying cards on the extreme end laptops would properly be upgraded yet with constrained selection. the clarification at the back of all it is the image card is built partly of the motherboard and there is no provision to permit an added one to be outfitted like a table surprising computing device. so which you have long gone to all that concern looking up the information and it extremely isn't any longer properly extremely worth the attempt sorry. The bios isn't the sole element right here it extremely is the full layout that's unsuitable.

You cannot upgrade the processor in a laptop.
It is quite technical and involves a substantial know how, and a soldering iron. Unless you are a computer technician, it ain't gonna happen.
