do manga character names...?

Do you think the names meaning should fit the characters personality? Do you think it matters?

I'm creating characters for a story so I need help!

    for some characters cuz if u did it for all characters it will get old u should have someones name be the opposite of who they r thatd be funny

    Really?? I thought i was the only one who cared about that XD and from what i looked up so far the names did describe me, AND BTW my name describes me too! Its kazuki and it means shine, hope, radiance, harmony, if you knew me you'd see how much i fulfil my name ^^ i think your right, they should match the character personalities

    i think names should fit main characters personalities at least, or at least sound masculine or feminine enough names to fit them. really the only people who would know are those who speak/are learning japanese lol

    oh but for the love of god dont use Sakura or Yuki -_- i dunno a name that's more cliche

    Nah, use random names. I mean, it's not like the parents are going to know they're child is a certain way when they're older so they name them one name instead of the other.

    i have a manga im writing leads names are sole and luna but there the opposite of what you expect luna uses sun sole uses moon
