Every time I enter the groups I belong to there are hundreds of "unread" messages. How can I mark all as read so I see only the total number of new messages since my last visit?
The Messages archive in a Yahoo Group does not have a concept of "unread" messages -- it does not keep track of which members have read which messages.
One thing you can do is click the "Messages" tab (as opposed to "Topics" or "Hot Topics") and then click on the right-hand column header: "Sort by Date". It would then be up to you (and your browser's history) to keep track of the most recent date you've read so far.

If you're talking about Yahoo groups, there is no such feature. Sorry.
