Do you think Bronte's criticism of Pride and Prejudice is accurate?
I have to write an essay for school and I don't understand the prompt. The prompt is "Charlotte Bronte did not appreciate Pride and Prejudice. She felt that Jane Austen didn't write about her characters' hearts." I'm so confused! Someone please help me! Thank you in advance

I don't agree with Charlotte Bronte about Jane Austen. I like both, though Charlotte Bronte's work could be said to be darker and deeper and more emotional/passionate. My thoughts on the matter don't necessarily help you, however. The point would be: what do you think and believe?
To understand the prompt, you not only have to be familiar with Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice, you also have to have read the criticisms, particularly Charlotte Bronte's criticism of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. To help you with this, I've found some sites for you to read and analyze yourself. Hopefully this will help you understand what the teacher's prompt means and enable you to make whatever point you want to make.

Pride And Prejudice Criticism
No, honestly I much prefer Jane Austen's writing after Charlotte Bronte's. Jane Eyre was just lukewarm for me.
