How do i hook up a RCA DVD/SURROUND sound system?
I have a Samsung smart tv and dish network i also have a Blue ray disc player. Now i have an old RCA surround sound/Dvd player. i want to utilize the speakers for my dish network not for the dvd i have a separate dvd with blue ray. somebody please tell me how to do this. i tried hooking up the surround sound to the back of my tv in the red white and yellow inputs got nothing. Pisses me off that i have this 5 speaker surround sound and can only use it when it is playing the dvd that i dont even use. does any of this make sense?

The easiest way is to check the surround receiver for a digital input, usually an optical cable and the digital out on your TV and connect the TV to the receiver with the optical cable. This will be the only way to get true surround sound but it will work with any input to the TV. Unless you have HDMI.
Nope, not happening throw the HTiB out, all of it, including the worthless speakers. you cant hook them up to anything, let alone what you suggest you want to.
