Leopard Geckos Info Please?
So I might be getting a Leopard Gecko after we move which is1 - 2 weeks away at most. I see the little ones and wonder if they get bigger and bulkier? I keep searching Craigslist and I honestly don't know the difference between a jumbo and regular gecko. I look it up and I need something to compare them to. If you know where I can get a leopard gecko under $30 as well, that would help me a ton. This is a little bit jumbled but it makes sense to me some how. I live in Arizona so if you know any pet shops or websites that are cheap, let me know please! Also can you let me know about a couple other things? I got this 10 gallon tank for my two beta fish (I know, it's crazy), and I have these purple fish small rocks, would those work as a ground for the gecko? Do I need a real plant with the gecko? I have some plastic ones for the fishies that are still in the package, because as I have said, I got the tank for them, but they still live in their tiny one. I just need a lot of information, like on if I get crickets, do I feed them? Do I need a tiny tank for them? Please help me out if you know anything. Thank you so much

leopard gecko will do fine with two hides (no plants) - you can put plants for decoration if youd like.
1 hide dry
1 hide humid
get a krciekt keeper for the krickets,
Feed them cricket food and vegegtable like carrots for hydration.

Jumbo is just the title for an adult leopard gecko that many pet stores use. Leopard geckos generally get to 8" long with a weight of about 40-80 grams. There are Giant and Super Giant leopard geckos that get larger, though, but it is only due to genetics and are more expensive than $30.
Gravel, or any loose substrate, is not good for geckos, because it can be swallowed and cause impaction. Use tile, newspaper, paper towels, slate, or linoleum. Even reptile carpet isn't that great because it has been known to cause sores on feet and belly and can be difficult to clean completely.
They don't need a real plant. The plastic ones for fish likely won't do well in the cage because they can come apart and usually don't stand up.
The 10 gallon tank is too small for an adult leopard gecko. A 20 gallon long is best.
You feed the crickets before giving to your gecko. This is called gut-loading. Fresh carrots, potatos, even "cricket chow" can be used. You will need a separate container for the crickets.
I HIGHLY suggest that you read up more on gecko care on geckoforums.net before getting the gecko.
As for finding one under $30...go to a reptile show. I've found juveniles for $10 at times. I've also seen adults for $25.
