How do I block a senders email address in yahoo mail?

I'm getting explicit emails and filters don't always address the problem, and labeling them as spam doesn't stop future emails.

  • Blocking Spam addresses is *mostly ineffective*. They normally change their address with each batch they send out. By the time the spam mail hits your account---they have already moved on to a new address and abandoned the previous one---which means you just wind up blocking an address that no longer exist.

Your best defense to reduce Spam (you can never stop it all, after you once let it get started) is ----NEVER open any Spam mails---Never EVER click the "unsubscribe" link. Either action just adds your address to a "valid and responsive" list that's available to every spammer in the world.

If you want to try blocking them anyway---(a few might stick)---- here's how.

Mail page>>options>>mail options>>Spam (on the left side)>>scroll to "block addresses".

Enter the *exact* address---click "add block"---click "save changes" (at the top)

    Good luck.

  • Look for the 'Options' link at upper right corner of mail screen and click on it

    Options /mail options

Click on 'spam' in the list on the left.

Then in 'Blocked Email Addresses,' enter the E-mail address you wish blocked, in the box after 'Add a blocked address' and click on the 'add' button, then click on 'save changes' at top left of screen.

You will never get mail from that address again.
