Why does mass effect make me depressed?
So the mass effect series is one of my favorite series by far, but the overall ending to 3 bums me out when I think about it. I know it's been awhile since the whole "ending" issue with fans, but I was recently thinking about it; am i alone on this?

This will help you.
Get the Citadel DLC.
After you finished ME3, the game save file reverts back to right before you are supposed to assault the Illusive Man's base, BUT with your final skill level and weapons.
The Citadel DLC includes an arena near your apartment which enables you to invite every single crew member still alive from all three games, and they have as many skill points to spend as you do.
So, if you ever wondered what it will be like in a quick, no danger, shootout with team ups like Miranda and Javik, or Ashley and Zaeed, or Jacob and Vega, then you have your chance.
The final part of the new Citadel DLC is what I call the REAL ENDING.
There is a big party in your apartment, and you invite every single surviving crew member from all 3 games. Lots of partying, drinking, and joking about a lot of the missions you all went on together.
It is also nice having people from ME3 hanging out with people from ME2.
As soon as I walked in, I saw Vega, Ashley, Jack, and Cortez hanging out in the living room. Jack drinking a beer.
On to the den where the bar was, I saw the "Cerberus clique": Jacob, Miranda, Joker, and EDI.
In the kitchen, I saw the "original group" clique, Garrus, Tali, Liara, with Samara, Kasumi, and Traynor.
Upstairs at the balcony, I saw the bad asses Wrex, Grunt, Zaeed, and Javik.
Then the party really kicks off. It works best if you had everyone live.
THAT is how you end Mass Effect! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7sZA_Rj24Y
It's sad to end such a great story. However, playing the Citadel DLC after beating the game and being returned to the Normandy gives a nice "End of Term" feel to the game.
I still think it could have been much better. You know, maybe tell how Shepard changed their lives or what the characters did later on in life. Like, I wonder if Grunt ever got hitched ya know? Found him a nice Krogan gal, maybe had some little Gruntlets, stuff like that.
DOES IT DEPRESS YOU EVEN MORE THAN THE FINAL SEASON OF THE SOPRANOS?
