Nordstrom as a job choice?

ok so today i had a phone interview with a recruiter from nordstrom and I'm thinking i got the job. I applied for retail sales position. I wanted to know:

-what exactly does a retail sales person do at nordstrom?

-How is the pay and how does it work because I've heard alot of different answers?

-Is it a overall good company to work for?

-what is the average amount you bring home a week or every two?

-Is it bi-weekly pay?

I would like detailed answers and preferably someone who has either worked there or knows someone who does.

I live in st,louis missouri i am 18 and have some volunteer experience in sales

  • It's doubtful that Nordstrom would offer a sales position just after a phone interview. More than likely this is a preliminary interview that may lead to a further interview with a department manager.

Most of these questions are ones you need to ask during your next interview, if there is one. It will show that you are proactive. Pay rates vary from state to state, and even from store to store, and will also depend on your experience. With your limited experience, don't plan on starting much higher than the minimum wage rate in your state.

As a former Nordstrom employee, I can attest that it generally is a nice place to work. Expectations are high, so your performance should be as well. A lot depends on your department manager.
