I think the P3s were capped at ~1ghz so the Celeron would be faster. But truly they are both crap, you could proably find a faster computer in the dumpsters around college housing. Please do not waste your money on either of those chips.
Architecturally the Pentium probably has a better design. Though and modern processor would crush it.

Intel Celeron 1.70GHz is better than Intel P3.

depends on the actual processor a celeron can be anything from a pentium III level to a dual core modern cpu
Celeron 1.70GHz definately, the P3 is ANCIENT.
