How to write a credo?

For my college english class I have to write a 200 word credo about a belief we follow. I'm a little confused on how to go about writing it though. I am basing mine off of the quote "If you are never scared, embarrassed or hurt it means you never take chances." a little help?

  • Credo means "I believe", so you're off to a good start. One good phrase is "A ship is safe in harbor, but that's not what a ship is built for." Remember that a credo is a statement of belief, not really an explanation or justification. It might be a good idea for you to look up a few as models. The Pledge of Allegiance is one. (More of a promise than a creed, but the idea is there.) There are lots of relifgious ones as well.
