Of course the Queen is treating the Duchess much different than Lady Diana. Back then The Queen was much younger and had much more energy to relate to Diana.
I think both Diana and the Duchess of Cambridge are just as much equally loved by the Queen. But on a side note, I think Kate is stronger in other ways than Diana was. But since they were from different times, it's hard to really decide.
Hell no. Nowhere near it. She doesn't DO anything. Diana, as flawed as she was, was vital, and dynamic. She was busy, she had personality. She was pressured to perform, and she did. She did all those intense walkabout's, charities, she made babies; she did it all - AND in front of the glare of the world's flashbulbs. She learnt over the years to be a performer extrordinaire. She was magic.
I think EVERYONE is treating Kate differently to Diana. They're treating her with kid gloves, IMO.
They probably don't want the same fiasco to fall apon them again. A lot of people turned against the royal family (The Queen, Charles etc) after Diana was killed. It seems the royal 'stiff upper lip' stayed too stiff for too long, and the public reacted very badly. And no-one had liked the way Diana had been treated when she was married to Charles. The royal family suffered a real slump in popularity. No, they didn't want THAT fiasco again.
It's obvious they don't want to put any pressure on Kate at all, for fear of a similar situation occuring. It sure is easy street for the girl...but frankly, I think that's all she could cope with. I mean, let's face it - she's not the most energetic of creatures. Babies and/or charity work would be just too much for the girl even after the looong run-up of getting half used to royal lifestyle while she was living with William (for 8! years) before marrying him. Well, the only REAL change is in name (she's now called 'Duchess'; nothing else has changed). It's just formal now.
No there's no pressure on Kate at all, no pressure to do ANYTHING. Just the way she likes it!
The late Diana, Princess of Wales was enormously popular after her wedding to Prince Charles, however, the duchess of Cambridge's popularity in no way matches the popularity of her late mother-in-law.
No. The Royal Family itself is not as popular now as it was when Charles married Diana. People seem to like Prince William more than his dad, Prince Charles.
no not even with all the support of the royal family, or the palace PR machine working overtime on spin to make her look popular - I think the overwhelming feeling about Kate is how the hell did she pull that off?
Nej William mor prinsessen af Wales var en sand skønhed og var karismatisk, mens Hertuginden af Cambridge jeg synes er kold og ikke ved, hvad hun laver. Ser lidt ligesom en fæl fisk ud af vandet!

NO NO NO !!!
Am amazed by the comment both "as much equally loved by the Queen"
Elizabeth II had to be spurred into expressing some sort of sympathy at Diana's death (Murder ??)
Philip and his wife felt threatened by Diana especally towards the end.

No chance
Maybe in 20 years time
It's not a contest!
They're very different.
Of course the Queen treats her differently, because they're different people.

Give the girl a chance. She's not long been married into 'The Firm' !
