  • Uhmm, you gave great info on the model at least, but no symtoms.

    Does not start means little.

Does all the electrical stuff work?

Does it make any sounds when you turn to the key to start?

Does the motor turn over, but just won't start?

    Manual or Auto transmission?

    Give us a clue.

  • You have an electrical problem in your car's security system. In most cases the car must read the key code and send a signal to the computer to start the car. If anything gets in the way of that code being sent, or the code is not sent at all, the car will not start. Worn key cylinders can be the cause, even a worn out key that has the chip in it. At worst the bcm or ecu module is defective and has to be replaced along with a new key and cylinder. If you have your extra key try switching it for the old one for a while, if that does not work have them check the key cylinder that reads the chip. Last resort new bcm or ecu. New key about 150....New Cylinder ..about 800 New Cylinder and bcm....1000+.

  • The first things you must start with is by diagnosing the OBM (on board monitor) computer with a code scanner even with the motor disable, the vehicle collect the trouble codes. Many auto parts will allow you to borrow a code scanner free of charge as long as you have proper ID. They will also will walk you with the instructions if you do not know how to use it. It's a good idea to have your own code scanner. Stores like Harbor Freight Tools carry some good ones as cheap as $50.00 and over depending of the futures but all of them will do the job for you. Most likely your vehicle has either a bad crank or cam sensor needed to complete the coil spark cycle. This is the most common symptom on most vehicles that refuse to start. Good luck...!
