Daewoo Lanos problems Please help?
I have a Daewoo Lanos 97 model, recently the timing belt went on it and I had it replaced but since the back yard mechanics that "tried" to fix it could not get the timing right it now has now power when I try to drive it, it feels as though it is sucking too much air.
The coil pack and also the spark plugs were replaced but still can't find the problem grrrrr
Update:All the teeth have been aligned what looks like properly, and the Cranckshaft has even been rotated again just to make sure.

The 97 Daewoo Lanos IS an interference engine.
That means when the timing belt breaks thus stopping the camshaft the pistons will hit and bend the stems of any valve that is open at the time of failure.
One way to check for bent valves is to remove the rocker cover and check for any valves that do not return fully when the rocker is at it's highest position.

Chuck the Daewoo lanos runs a cam BELT not a chain.
ok for one, if your timing chain broke when you were driving the car you might as well junk that engine. if your engine went out of timing on the fly then it probably resulted in your pistons bending your valves to hell and back which will void an engine instantaneously. with bent valves your cylinders won't seal right during the ignition process and the engine will run like crap if it runs at all. you need to take it to a shop to see if the valves or cylinders have been damaged from debris from the chain or damaged valves.
i'm sorry i individually cant show you how to along with your subject i merely had to declare at one evaluate my existence i had a daewoo laganza and that i enjoyed it . for the 1st 3 months then unexpectedly the engine blew and there replaced into NOONE arround that would desire to or might restore it good success
if the belt is only a few teeth out it will wreck the engine it is simple to check if it is installed properly
