They are always working on making it look like they have something better and faster so you will think you need to buy it. It's and illusion called marketing. The 500 series cards will be good for about 3 years like all the other cards. In 3 years or so they will actually be faster and cheaper so then you should look into it. I worked at a company that changed the model numbers every year but the product was basically the same, it's a sales gimmick. People think they need the latest and the best but in reality there is no difference and if there is it is so minimal it doesnt matter.
