I have a really weak core due to years of slouching and bad posture (ie letting my stomach hang out and letting back arch) I need help with this so I have no more back pain!
Transverse abs can be stimulated by the same exercises as the obliques, through various means such as crossover crunches, lying bent leg crunches, side bends, twists (with weights or a stick). I'm not aware of any exercise that actually specifically targets these specifically other than the listed exercise "abdominal vacuum". It sounds like you could use some overall strength training in the abs and back.
