Why does Dante describe Hell as a city?

Talking about Dante's Inferno

  • Cities are congested places where many things are available and you can do a lot of things because they have a lot of resources (stores, food, clothes, people, interactions, etc.) Many people also think of cities as being terrible places because they are so congested and because they usually do have high crime rates.

If it were described as a rural area, there wouldn't be as many thing to interact with. I mean, if you're alone in a field, about the only thing that can torture you is a cow, or a rabbit, or maybe a passing tornado. Cities have so much more to work with.....the evil old woman next door, crumbling walls, dangerous alleys. And Dante was writing at a time when cities were dirty, and dangerous, and very crime-ridden, and full of diseases that were easily transmittable.

    Moo.

  • that's all in step with human beings interpretation of the bible and impacts from Dante's inferno and different literature. the only element that a number of those e book have in undemanding is they're all works of FICTION. there isn't any hell it fairly is largely a fashion used by the non secular conservatives to brainwash their undesirable toddlers into doing what they desire "do touch your self johnny you will bypass to hell". it fairly is a made up place besides the reality that some can argue hell is the view out of your front door.
