Problem uploading pictures onto computer from my exilim digital cam? Help?

I connected the camera through the usb cable. i went to my computer and opened it nd deres a lot of folders DCIM PICTURES VIDEOS MUSIC...But the thing is that they all say shortcut..this is the first time it happens to me...i know you suppose to click DCIM which i did but it says "The file or folder "lisor.scr" that this shortcut refers to cannot be found. what does this mean ? what are my options?

    The best option, it seems to me, is a card reader. They're available where ever cameras are sold for litle $$. No software, no cable, no hassle
