Scam or a real business?
I am looking for a job in marketing.. and I have seen some names I recognize and some I don't.. I am doing a ride along with a company to experience what they do.. part of there management training program.. There ad, describes it as a career in Marketing, sports and entertainment. Where they take there clients free promos.. and I guess its up to a Rep. to sell them.. Does this sound like anything you have ever heard of? Like door to door soliciting... Let me know what you think. There interview process is a little suspect as well.. maybe Im being paranoid (after all, Im asking the internet for advice!)

I have done sales most of my life in one capacity or another. I can tell you that if you check you will find that many of the CEOs and many of the board members came out of the marketing department. If I was a young man again I would consider selling as a living again but I would not do this type of selling I would either do industrial and medical sales. Here are a few differences. Company car, health plan, vacation, sick days, expense account, receive pay on a draw and not everything right now. Greater volume of sales and a much bigger paycheck. If I had to put in a hundred appications and only got to be interviewed just a few time I would soon or later get the job that I would want. The guys (ladies) that are making the big dollars are in industrial or Medical sales. American hospital Supple offered me $67,000 a year and that was in 1985 and that was with everything that I wrote above but also included a 401K.
