How do I convince my mom to adopt a dog?

I have a dog already, who is 4 years old. I went to a dog wash today, where Love A Stray had a booth set up with several dogs up for adoption. My brother and I had an attatchment towards one dog, Ariel. She's a chiwowa(sorry I don't know how to spell that) and beagle mix, and she's totally adorable. She's one year old, abandoned by her old family. She's very relaxed, spayed, toilet trained, and gets along great with my dog. I feel so bad for her, living in a cage. I know she deserves a good home, but my mom is worried about the cost an how my cat would be angry. My family is middle class, and I don't really believe money is the issue. There's no adoption fee. If you could please suggest some persuasive ideas to give this dog a home, I would be so grateful. Thank you!!!

  • aw, thats so sad!

maybe you could show her the dog?

and she'l start to feel sorry for it?

and you could also see how much she cost's, if it's too much for your mum, then maybe you should just forget about it.

its sad, but you really cant do anything about it..

hopefully that poor dog will find a good home!

    good luck.

  • just because there's no adoption fee doesn't mean caring for the dog will be free. owning a dog can be pretty expensive, and if your mom doesn't want a dog then you should drop it. your heart's in the right place but if your mom says no, the answer is no.

  • Well crying always helps me! LOL.... tell your mom what will happen if nobody adopts her, you can also tell her that you will be the one to take care of her, and be the one to make sure that your cat and her get along. if you've got a job or allowance you can also try offering to pay for things like getting her lisenced, any shots still needed, and buying things like leash, collar, toys, ETC.

    HOPE THIS HELPS

  • if your mom says no you can't just drop it even if some people say to. it is expensive to care for a dog but if you really want it wave up enough money for dog food before you adopt it, never ask your mom to clean up after it or pay for its food. if you tell her you her you will pay for everything and show her how much money you have saved up she will most likely say yes, but before you ask show more responsibility and take extra care of your other dogs first
