Cardinal Tetra environment help?

I know Cardinal Tetra's love planted tanks. I'm just wondering if they will do well in a non-planted tank. AT the moment I have some plants in the tank, low light plants, but not sure If I am going to stay that route.

I'd really like some Cardinals though, but want them to be happy.

any suggestions?

Thanks

  • Cardinals are just bigger more colorful neon tetras. They do best in Soft acidic water with plants and bog wood. Any tank will do above 5 gallons. Though many will disagree with this I recomend at least a 30 gallon for Cardinal Tetras. They love large schools where they can live happy lives. My favorite tetras setup is a 65 gallon with 20 Cardinal Tetras, 20 Rummynose Tetras and 2 Curviceps. They all look briliant together. I do not use the 1 inch per gallon rule. You can'/t put a 10 inch oscar in a 10 gallon tank
