What can I do naturally to make a miscarriage pass?
I am supposed to be 18 weeks pregnant and heave been diagnosed with a missed miscarriage. The dr says tht the baby stopped developing at 14 weeks. I do not wish to have a dnc, I can't imagine having my baby ground up like trash but my dr. Is pushing for it if my body doesn't do it naturally soon. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Honey, you're going to need a D&C. With some women our bodies don't realize it, and never do. I had a missed miscarriage at 11.5 weeks I found out when I was 17.5 and waited until I was just over 19 weeks before having the procedure done. I didn't want it but my doctor said I would probably end up carrying full term and giving birth to an 11.5 week old baby. I also had an infection setting in that was supposed to have taken my fertility. I know there is a medicine they can give you because I tried that but it didn't work. I would go talk to your doctor, I carried an extra 8 weeks and got a really bad infection so I don't suggest any woman ever doing the same.
Provoke a period. You can do this by using Vitamin C.
Take 6-12 grams of ascorbic acid - vitamin C a day for 5-10 days. Specifically, ascorbic acid. Do not use vitamin C with bioflaviniods or anything that has Rose-hips in it. Look for the cheap generic brands, they are usually the ones that have pure ascorbic acid. Doses consisting of one 500 mg tablet per hour are most common.
The vitamin C -ascorbic acid- works to produce an unfavorable climate within the uterus so that the egg does not implant, or cannot maintain its grip on the uterine wall. By stimulating estrogen, and possibly interfering with progesterone. Thus making it useful as an emergency contraceptive, when taking it before implantation occurs.
Progesterone is needed to prepare the uterus to receive the egg, the uterine lining builds up each month, and if the egg is not fertilized then this is what becomes the menstrual blood, when the lining is shed to prepare for the next cycle.
Smh. Large doses of vitamin C promotes uterine contractions, very large doses that nobody would normally have in there diet ever. On top of the Vitamin C does you can get some sprigs of parsley, boil them and insert a little into the vagina up against the cervix, this causes the cervix to dilate. Neither one of these methods is guaranteed to work. You're further along so it may not be so easy. Large doses of vitamin C are not without complications, especially on the kidneys. I suggest you speak to your doctor about any methods you may try. Remember that you miscarried a month ago already and the longer it remains the higher at risk you are for an infection. Good luck, and sorry for your loss.
Vitamin C does not "provoke" a period. You will either pass it on your own or have to have a d&c. If vitamin C made you have a miscarriage then it wouldn't be in all our prenatal vitamins.
